Gabriela Jimenez

Gabriela is a Chemical Engineer coming from Caracas, Venezuela. She has strong sense of teamwork and experience in engineering projects, laboratory work, research, coordination and supervision of organizational logistics and simulation in different engineering software.

Besides Spanish, her native language, she is fluent in English and Portuguese, and has visited several developing countries in the Western Hemisphere. She also has lived, studied and worked in United States where she was an exchange student at the University of New Mexico and took specialized courses on water resources management.

She chose the MDP program because she has been working in different projects related to water treatment, gas, and oil refineries, and she has experienced the importance of having (or not) managers who have a comprehensive vision and consider all the facets of a project: environment, health, finances and community social and economic development. She chose Indigenous Development because growing in Venezuela has given her awareness of the social and economic exclusion indigenous communities endure and the program will help her make a meaningful contribution in the lives of Venezuelan indigenous peoples.
