Still Undecided
If you are undecided and not sure what to take, one approach is to fulfil some of your General Degree Requirements for your degree* in your first year.
You could follow this formula:
Choose 2 or 3 courses that count towards your General Degree Requirements:
- Academic Writing Requirement
- Humanities Requirement, e.g. History or English courses
- Science Requirement, e.g. Biology or Geography (physical) courses
- Indigenous Course Requirement

+ Add 1 or 2 courses of interest to round out your first year
- maybe an introductory course in a possible major
- or course(s) in the social sciences, like Anthropology, Psychology or Sociology
*Note: Each type of degree has a different set of general degree requirements. A Science degree is different than an Arts degree.
