Employee Tuition Scholarship Programs

Applications and eligibility requirements for the Employee Tuition Scholarship and the Collegiate Tuition Scholarship are available on the Human Resources website.

Please make sure you submit the application attached to your unit (AESES, IUOE, etc.) by the specified application date. Late applications will not be considered.

Deadlines

The deadlines to apply for the Tuition Scholarship or Collegiate Tuition Scholarship programs are as follows:

  • Recently Completed Fall/Winter session – Submit application by June 1st annually
  • Recently Completed Spring/Summer session – Submit application by October 1st annually

If you have been granted an extension to complete your coursework for the term that goes beyond the applicable term’s submission deadline, please contact Human Resources to arrange an extension BEFORE the deadline.

Application and Awarding Process

Please email the completed application form to Human Resources. Please ensure that scans are clear and legible. 

Human Resources will confirm employee benefit eligibility and will forward application to Awards and Financial Aid office for further processing. The Awards and Financial Aid office will ensure student eligibility conditions and grades are met.

The Financial Aid and Awards office aims to process Tuition Scholarships approximately one month after the application deadline. Scholarships for eligible courses will be posted directly to students' accounts. Cheques will be mailed to the address on the student’s file. Please allow up to 4 weeks following posting for cheques to be received.

Values

The Tuition Scholarship value for undergraduate courses is tuition, less supplementary course and service fees (prorated, if applicable).

2023-24 academic year Undergraduate scholarship values are:

  • $873.90 for each six credit hour course
  • $436.95 for each three credit hour course

The Collegiate Tuition Scholarship value is 40% of total tuition paid (before any special, additional fees or levies).

  • $358 per full credit course for Grade 9, 10, 11, and 12 in 2023-24

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Pace students eligible for the Employee Tuition Scholarship?

No. Only undergraduate courses are eligible for the Employee Tuition Scholarship. Please note the eligibility restrictions detailed in the relevant collective agreements and on the application forms.

If you are an employee, partial reimbursement for non-credit PACE courses is available through the Tuition Reimbursement Program. This career-development support does not extend to spouses or dependents. Prior approval must be sought through Human Resources prior to registering for courses. To start the approval process, please complete the Application for Tuition Fee Reimbursement. All questions about this program should be directed to Human Resources.

Are Graduate-level courses eligible for the Employee Tuition Scholarship?

For AESES, IUOE, and UWFA members, only undergraduate courses are eligible for the Employee Tuition Scholarship. Please note the eligibility restrictions detailed in the relevant collective agreements and on the application forms.

University of Â鶹´«Ã½ graduate-level courses are eligible for the Employee Tuition Scholarship for Excluded Support Staff Employees. This support for graduate-level classes does not extend to spouses or dependents.
