1L10 Studio Support & Services

The University of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Instructional Network or Studio1L10 is a professional digital recording studio designed for optimal lecture capture for scheduled Video on Demand (VOD) course sections (758,759).  The studio is managed by the Centre for Academic Technology – Studio.

The studio features:

  • Five cameras to capture the speaker, displays, demonstrations and the surrounding 36 seat venue.
  • Roaming wireless hand-held microphones for student or audience comments, questions and answers.
  • A 75” electronic Smart Board/Whiteboard.
  • Desktop Sympodium computer screen allowing instructors to display, edit, annotate and erase content digitally on either surface interchangeably with Smart Board.
  • Digital Dyno-Eye microscope connects via USB for up to 700x magnification, ideal for cellular display, electronics, and tiny objects. It supports annotations, measurements, and USB export.
  • Studio is Zoom/Teams capable with a dedicated screen for remote attendees.
  • Hands free document camera for display of books, documents, teaching objects, demonstrations, experiments, etc.
  • Separate interview set for one-on-one conversations between guest and host.
  • Switching between digital input sources is managed by experienced, on-site studio professionals who are present throughout the lecture production.
  • All lectures are recorded in MP4 format, uploaded to Panopto, and accessible through the Nexus course page. Panopto supports viewing on phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops via its app.

The Studio is available to the University community for video recording sessions for teaching and research purposes during free time slots.
