Research Interests:

  • Galactic Astronomy: determining Milky Way's shape (possible flattening) using gravitational lensing, and the consequences for determining the baryonic content of the Universe.
  • Astrophysical cosmology: evolution of the gaseous content of the universe and QSO absorption line systems; baryonic dark matter in general and MACHOs in particular.
  • Anthropic principle: its cognitive significance and connection with the values of cosmological parameters.
  • Physical eschatology. Future evolution of the universe; duration of the stelliferous era.
