wesmen name chosen
OCTOBER 28 1966: After a student vote held by the Athletics Council of the UCSU, between the names Wesmen, Redmen, and Vikings for all United College sports teams, Wesmen won out. It was submitted as a combination of Wesley and Manitoba – Wesman – which was then “pluralized” to Wesmen.
